General Advice on Jewellery Care and Maintenance
- We do not recommend you wear jewellery when you sleep, swim, or practice sports.
- Avoid contact between jewellery and perfume or make-up.
- Store each piece of jewellery separately and in its original packaging to avoid damages or scratches.
- Do not store jewellery near radiators, window sills, or in direct sunlight.
Cleaning Instructions by Material
Porcelain
- For pieces from the White collection, use a soft brush to clean any dust.
- For pieces from the Beneath collection, clean with a neutral detergent using a soft, lint-free cloth, preferably 100% cotton.
Silver
- Sterling silver naturally tarnishes with exposure to air, environment, perspiration, and certain perfumes and lotions.
- To prevent tarnishing, store silver in a cool, dry place in acid-free tissue, or in a box or pouch.
- If tarnished, restore with a silver polishing cloth, liquid polish, or paste, ensuring all liquid is removed.
- Alternatively, wash with a neutral detergent using a soft, lint-free cloth or soft bristle brush for intricate details, then rinse and pat dry with a soft cloth.
Plating
- Gold plating is not permanent; proper care will maximize its lifespan.
- After each use, gently rub the surface with a very soft cloth to remove dust and dirt (avoid polishing cloths).
- If deeper cleaning is needed, soak in warm, soapy water briefly and clean with a soft cloth.
- Avoid jewellery cleaners or antibacterial soaps that may cause quicker tarnishing.
- Store in a cool, dry place in a box or pouch, and separate metals to prevent tarnishing or color changes.
Repairs & Reconditioning
If your jewellery shows signs of wear, we offer a full repair and reconditioning service, including:
- Repairs for broken chains or damaged pieces
- Replating, cleaning, polishing, and inspection for damage (e.g., knocked stones, loose settings)
Warranty
The Deborah Tseng Jewellery warranty covers manufacturing defects for 6 months from the original purchase date. Proof of purchase is required. The warranty does not cover breakage, loss, damage, appearance changes, or gradual degradation due to wear, mishap, careless handling, improper use, or non-compliance with care instructions.
